On the first warm and quiet spring evening in Tartu (last year) walking on the Rabits track (the name of the walking path) I always looked the Emajõgi and had wish to go to canoeing. Stuck on the wish ja promised myself to go canoeing next spring. I kept my promise and found the cheapest canoe rent firm near Tartu. I chose Matkasõbrad Ah ja Oh canoe rent firm. Because I planned to start from Tartu the location of the firm fit perfectly. Didn't need to pay for canoe transportation.Week or even more before, I started to find who would like to join with me. There were people who wanted to come but they can't and finally I got 6 people that fit exactly for renting two canoes. The morning started strangely, I late a little and Ken's car fuel tank got empty. Put we were still in a good mood. Canoes on the water we started to row towards Tartu to pick up Ken next to Club Tallinn. On the halfway Saadjärv voluntary lake savior's boat suspended us and didn't allowed to row any further because some kind of show. We moved back towards to starting point and we made a new meeting point with Ken.
Everyone in canoe, we started to move towards the railroad bridge near Tartu. Had to row upstream which slow down our speed a lot. Because of the fast melting of the snow the flood was quite wide and more room for canoeing than usually. Rowed already couple hundred meters we saw a gut with sign who wanted to go other side of the river. Guys from other canoe decided to help him.

After it we moved on in parallel with Rabits track. After some hours of rowing we decided to make some barbecue. We chose a place with a great view, where other side of the river was stucked ship.

Noticed that time was quite late we decided to row until the railroad bridge and back. Because the floods were really wide we rowed sometimes on the flooded field and then returned back on the river. We arrived near the railroad bridge right on time when the traine just drive over it. Under the bridge were many whirpools which make the rowing really difficult. Sometimes it was a feeling that canoe is just not moving on.

Rowing back was much easyer and faster than we thought. There were many roving or driving enthusiasts after us. Everyone had a boat that fit them. Arrived back I was really satisfied because I kept my promise, wheather was sunny and company was great. I hope it's not going to be the last time.
