There's some retro in the air
At the end of the summer I got surprised when I saw Kristo in Tartu and he handed over real retro for me. The tipe of the camera which I have ever even hold in my hand. It was around start of 80s SLR camera Yashica FX-D se quartz. Firstly I looked it like some kind of weird thing, because I can't understand what some kind of buttons and levers do. Because I got the camera on the way to mushrooming, I just can't consentrate to mushrooming and I can't wait until I get back home. Of course when I arrived back home I can't made any photos, I didn't have film and batteries. After couple of days I bought the things I needed and it was time to wait some lightful days and not so lightful days to test the camera in different situations. I did one mistake, I bought the cheapest film which ASA (ISO in nowadays cameras) was only 200, which made it little difficult to take some photos in the forest with cloudy days. The camera have Yashica 35-105 mm f3,5-4,5 lens and 2x converter. Mostly I didn't use the converter. Now when first film is full I have gotten much smarter how to handle the camera. I finally got my first photos and I let digitalize them. Watching these photos I got real retro feeling. All these colours, epohh and sun reflections give a new look for the photos. Yeah the quality is not as good as new cameras but these photos just got the different soul. Photos make me feel that these are made before I was born. Sometimes when I get tired of my modern camera then I I take my retro one and I make some pictures with it. The main reason why I like that kind of camera is that if I take some photos I have some kind of excited feeling, because I don't know how good photos I get until I take out my film and take it to the lab, I can't make double photos because I don't want to waste the film. Most photographers say that makeing photos with film camera is best way to study makeing photos and think about right corners and shadows.
